I like that you tried Storybird - it is a great little storytelling website and I love the illustrations which can springboard thoughts for writing your story sometimes. :) Photography can unleash an amazing and often latent amount of creativity and with today's ubiquitous access to digital photos via mobile devices, it is easily accessible. It is also one of my favorites because it ties so well with visual literacy which is key in today's world.
